Getting around

Driving is the practical default beyond core towns. Ferry plans, road conditions, tide tables, and fuel stops should be checked together.

Seasonal tradeoff

Summer is drier and busier. Winter is powerful and quiet, but storms, short daylight, and road issues require more margin.

Local norm

Never turn your back on the ocean, keep distance from wildlife, and do not enter closed or culturally sensitive areas.
