Getting around

Ferries, bikes, local transit, and a car can each be right for different islands. North Cascades travel is road-dependent and seasonal.

Seasonal tradeoff

Island summers are in demand. Shoulder seasons are quieter, while mountain routes may remain wintry long after the lowlands turn green.

Local norm

Treat ferries as part of the public transportation system, not a photo stop that can hold up loading.
